My name is Rabi Shankar Singh and I'm a student at Global School of Science. Growing up speaking Maithili, Bhojpuri, Hindi, and Nepali, followed by English, helped in developing a curiosity for language and its connections. I was the first person from my family who left my house alone for education. I went away after SEE and went to Kathmandu to find myself a school where I earned full scholarships in Grades 11 and 12. No one handed down any of these opportunities to me. I discovered all those things on my own – be it olympiads, online courses, or research opportunities. A cold LinkedIn message resulted in me joining an environmental accountability research group of the Fair Start Movement and working with an institutional accountability research project of Yale. It was the same search that landed me into the National Chemistry Olympiad and then eventually to compete as Nepal's representative in 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Tashkent in 2026 when there was no scholarship funding, my family helped. Now I help mentor other students in Olympiad chemistry. As an ambassador, I would like to give students in Nepal the confidence that their curiosity and initiative alone can do the trick.
