Hey, I’m Araf Iqbal. I’m a high school student and an IB Diploma Programme candidate based in the United States. I recently moved here as an international student from Bangladesh, an experience that has broadened my perspective, strengthened my adaptability, and allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Growing up in a multilingual environment sparked my interest in language and communication. I’m fascinated by how linguistics combines logic, patterns, and culture to help us understand how languages work. Exploring different languages and education systems has deepened my curiosity about how language shapes the way we think and connect globally. I have been involved in leadership and technical roles that helped me grow as a communicator and organizer. At Annandale High School, I actively participate in academic communities and enjoy encouraging others to challenge themselves intellectually. As an Ambassador for the International Linguistics Challenge, I hope to connect students and schools, promote linguistics in engaging ways, and create opportunities for more students to experience the excitement of solving linguistic problems.
